Unique Handcrafted Millefiori and Glass Bead Necklace

As I understand it, Millefiori Trade Beads were made by the Venetians and traded to the Africans. I bought these striking Millefiori beads from an African dealer at a recent gem show. I combined several of these beads with yellow glass beads in a square knot necklack. I finished the strands off with cobolt blue (cira 1950s) oval beads.

The necklace is 25 1/2" in length and the center beads hang down 4". I used a copper toggle type clasp.
