I just love the rich color of red ruby dyed candy jade! Here I combined 8 and 14 mm ruby red candy jade beads and sterling silver findings including Bali beads, ear wires and a lobster claw clasp. The necklace can be adjusted from 16" to 18 3/4" and the earrings are 1 1/4" plus the ear wire.
Candy jade is an interesting stone made of what the Chinese refer to as "Bai Yu," or White Jade by its common name. This type of natural stone is hard and white or semi-translucent white in color. After being cut and polished, the stones go through a complex color enhancing process, penetrating from surface to center with wonderful colors, thus their common name, Candy Jade.

Nearly three inches of adjustment in the necklace!
Although my scanner doesn't show it, the ruby red of the beads is semi-translucent.
