In creating this jewelry set I combined lots of pink, green and white candy jade including 6 mm beads, 8 mm beads and a facted pendant plus sterling silver findings including a toggle clasp, ear wires and Bali spacer beads. The necklace is 19" in length, the center drop is 1 5/8" by 7/8" and the earrings are 1" plus the ear wire. The earrings best show the varing colors.
Candy jade is an interesting stone made of what the Chinese refer to as "Bai Yu," or White Jade by its common name. This type of natural stone is hard and white or semi-translucent white in color. After being cut and polished, the stones go through a complex color enhancing process, penetrating from surface to center with wonderful colors, thus their common name, Candy Jade.
