In creating this jewelry set I combined lots of magenta candy jade including 6 mm beads, 6 mm rondelle beads and a 14 mm bead plus sterling silver findings including a hook and eye clasp and ear wires. The necklace is 18" in length and the earrings are 1 1/4" plus the ear wire.
Candy jade is an interesting stone made of what the Chinese refer to as "Bai Yu," or White Jade by its common name. This type of natural stone is hard and white or semi-translucent white in color. After being cut and polished, the stones go through a complex color enhancing process, penetrating from surface to center with wonderful colors, thus their common name, Candy Jade.
