In creating this original 25 1/2" Standing Bear necklace I selected 5 mm garnet beads, what I think are gray serpentime fetishes, a rhodonite standing bear and a sterling silver toggle clasp. The reason I think the smaller fetishes are serpentine is they have the slick feel of serpentine. The smaller fetishes are imported from the Philippines and are mostly about an inch in length by 3/8" by 1/8". The standing bear is from China and is carved from rhodonite and is 1 5/8" in height.

Lots of these type fetishes are sold as Native American, however, they are imported!
Note the great detail even in the smaller fetishes.
