In creating this necklace I selected red sponge coral 8 mm and teardrop beads, a blue sponge coral rose flower pendant as a center drop and sterling silver findings including a toggle clasp and Bali beads. The necklace is 18 1/2" in length, the center drop is 1 1/2" in diameter and the sponge teardrops are 20 x 25 mm.
The blue rose pendant is carved from naturally harvested coral into the shape of a blooming rose. The pendant has an unusual, sandy texture and striking blue color.

These sponge coral beads are crafted from chunks of natural sponge coral that have been harvested in the deep sea, They are cut, ground, polished and color treated to give them their red-orange glow. The natural variations and lines add to the uniqueness of these beads.
